Vital Signs

Through our “Vital Signs” program, F&H Solutions Group’s consultants can help our clients effect the changes in management styles of managers and supervisors, as well as within the Human Resources function. By conducting sample interviews with managers and employees, we will:

  • Learn more about the organization’s culture;
  • Evaluate the employee relations climate;
  • Review personnel policies and practices;
  • Provide specific recommendations for creating a more productive employee relations climate; and 
  • Monitor the progress of overall employee relations efforts by conducting sample interviews with managers and employees.

Some of the specific areas we will examine are:

  • Communication processes - downward and upward;
  • Supervisory effectiveness;
  • Personnel policy administration;
  • Employment practices;
  • Compensation issues; and
  • Disciplinary actions.

Furthermore, we will be a “sounding board” for you and other members of management regarding personnel issues, policy matters and just exploring ideas. F&H Solutions Group will visit a client a set number of times over a one-year period. In addition to these visits, we will provide a “hot line” telephone service. This will allow us to help with any personnel issues or to be a sounding board to management. There will be no additional charges for these calls so you never will have to worry about the meter running. (Some Vital Signs clients call us on a weekly basis.)

Also, during a visit we may conduct a mini training session for management on various topics ranging from discipline, communications, harassment, etc. These mini sessions may last for an hour or more.

One measure of the success of this program is that since its inception, no Vital Signs client has ever been unionized. Furthermore, this is the proactive way of avoiding litigation related to various employment laws. In addition, most vital signs clients have used this service for many years, some as long as 34 years, because it has led to building a stronger management team.
