F&H Solutions Group Offers Comprehensive and Legally Defensible Harassment Prevention Training for California Employers
California has signed Senate Bill 396 into effect, clarifying its position on issues regarding gender identity in the workplace. F&H Solutions Group can help ensure organizations are in compliance.
F&H Solutions Group (FHSG) offers comprehensive and legally defensible harassment training for California employers, including separate employee and manager courses. In accordance with an organization's needs, FHSG's knowledgeable consultants can travel to conduct on-site training or a train-the-trainer experience. In addition, the firm is now able to offer comprehensive online training courses that are specialized to serve the different responsibilities of a company's employees and managers.
While the Department of Justice and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission are in disagreement about how to approach the issue of gender identity in the workplace, California has taken steps to clarify its position by successfully signing Senate Bill 396 into effect.
The bill is one of the first of its kind in the country—it extends protective rights to those employees who may face harassment based on their gender expression, sexual orientation, or gender identity. These changes must be reflected in the pre-existing mandatory two-hour harassment training sessions that have been required since the passing of California Assembly Bill 1825 in 2005.
“Companies need to move beyond compliance and become proactive on these issues,” says Brad Federman, Chief Operating Officer of F&H Solutions Group. “It is time organizations create environments where people feel safe, valued and respected on a consistent basis regardless of their differences."
